Flood Brothers will provide each single-family household with a 95-gallon refuse cart. Additional carts are available for those residents that would be interested; a rental price would be applied. Flood Bros will provide two-flat buildings with one 95-gallon refuse cart.
Any refuse that cannot fit into the Flood Bros issued cart or dumpster must be placed in a bag or container not to exceed 32-gallons or 50lbs.
Refuse collection will also include one bulk item (i.e. discarded furniture. Any special requests of items weighing more than 50lbs will not be collected and will require the resident to contact our office to arrange for proper collection.
Flood Brothers will provide weekly collection to each household and building. We will provide 95-gallon recycling carts. Additional carts are available for those residents that would be interested; a rental price would be applied.
Flood Bros will allow recycling materials to be co-mingled (i.e. plastic, glass, metal and paper products mixed together). Flood Brothers. will collect recyclables curbside, using the co-mingled process. There is no limit to the number of recycling bins or to the quantity of recyclables that a household may place at the curb for collection.
Residents have the right to set out recycling bins which are clearly marked for recycling collection and do not exceed 35 gallons or 50lbs. Flood Brothers will collect from all the recycling bins that have been placed at the curb for collection.
Flood Brothers will provide each single-family household with a 95-gallon refuse cart. Yard Waste Collection will be provided to South Chicago Heights from April 1st to November 30th on the same day as refuse and recycling collection each week.
All yard waste shall be placed in the Flood Bros issued cart and any additional items must been in a waterproof plastic or metal container with a tight cover, or a biodegradable Kraft bag, of a size no larger than 35 gallons and not exceeding 50lbs.
There shall be no limit on the number of containers placed out for collection by a given household. We will accept and collect all bundles of brush or limbs, providing the bundles do not exceed a weight of fifty (50) pounds per bundle, are not more than four (4) feet long, are not more than two (2) feet in diameter, do not contain limbs greater than three (3) inches in diameter and are tied with a material that is accepted at designated compost sites.

One (1) time a year during two (2) days in April, the Village and Flood Bros will designate special days for removal of big items on a regular garbage day.
Unlimited bulk items and unlimited amounts of refuse will be picked up. Excluded Items: All Electronic Devices (Which Must Be Recycled), Automotive Parts Over 50 Pounds (lbs.), Automotive Tires, Construction or Demolition Material.
If a holiday falls on a weekday or a Sunday, and your regularly scheduled pickup is on or after the holiday, your pickup will be delayed by one day. Friday customers will be serviced on Saturday.
Flood Brothers will not collect on the following holidays:
Flood Brothers will provide a special collection for Christmas trees during the first 2 weeks of January.. Holiday greenery must have all tinsel, ornaments, lights and nails removed before being placed out at the curb for pickup.
Flood Brothers will also provide collection services for white good items (i.e. appliances). Examples shall include refrigerators, dish washers, water heaters, washers, dryers, etc. Appliances: refrigerator, freezer, air conditioner, dishwasher, hot water heater, etc.
We ask that you remove the doors from any refrigerator and freezer. After the items are collected, Freon is safely removed (if present) and appliances are recycled. Appliances must be empty.
Residents will be asked to call our office 24 hours prior to collection to schedule the pickup.
Residents can drop off electronic recycling at Township building or residents can call Flood Brothers office to schedule curbside collection.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency states electronic waste is now the fastest growing segment of our nation's waste stream. Electronic waste, from computers to TVs, contain toxic materials such as lead, chromium, cadmium, mercury, beryllium, nickel, zinc and other potentially harmful chemicals. The EPA warns when electronics that contain these materials are not recycled or are not disposed of properly, the hazardous chemicals can contaminate the ground water and present additional environmental concerns. Illinois State Law bans electronic waste in landfills. Under this state law, electronic waste cannot be collected with household refuse/waste.

Flood Brothers would inform residents to reach out to our office when a possible hazardous waste material may need to be disposed of. We will work with the resident to find the best solution for disposal with the assistance of Cook County Recycling programs.
