All items for collection must be placed at the curb by 6:00 a.m on your specific service day.

Service Days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.  

Kenilworth Collection Days

Refuse/Garbage Collection

Flood Brothers will provide each single-family household with a 95-gallon refuse cart upon initial distribution. Residents are asked to contact Flood Brothers after May 1st if they would like to utilize their own container in lieu of the issued cart. All equipment issued will be owned and maintained by Flood Bros.

Collection will occur weekly on your scheduled day, either backdoor or in the alley.  Additional household refuse beyond the Flood Brothers cart or customer container may be placed in containers not exceeding 35-gallons and 50lbs in weight, with an affixed refuse sticker.  Additional carts may be rented through Flood Bros. by contacting our office,  withj a monthly rental fee applied .

Residents that would like twice per week collection for their refuse and recycling are asked to contact our office as well.

Recycling Collection

Flood Bros. will provide each single-family household with a 95-gallon recycling cart upon initial distribution. All equipment will beowned and maintained by Flood Bros.  Collection will occur weekly on your scheduled day, either backdoor or in the alley.

Recycling will be collected at an unlimited quantity of properly prepared household recycling.  Preparation requirements for households participating in the recycling program including rinsing, removing labels, flattening, removing caps and lids, etc. can be found on our website. Residents may place their recycling materials in additional  containers (marked recycling with handles) or simply place them neatly alongside of recycling containers on collection days.

Residents that would like twice per week collection for their refuse and recycling are asked to contact our office.


Yard Waste and Food Scrap Collection

Flood Brothers will provide yard waste collection every Wednesday from April 1st through November 30th. Collection will occur weekly. Yard waste is required to be out by 6:00 am each service day.  

All yard waste shall be placed in a waterproof plastic or metal container with a tight cover, or a biodegradable Kraft bag, of a size no larger than 35 gallons and not exceeding 50lbs. All units set out must have an affixed yard waste sticker. These stickers are available for purchase through Village Hall.

Flood Brosthers offers additional options for yard waste collection through a pre-paid subscription program, allowing residents up to eight  (8) units per week placed at the curb.  Residents also have the option of renting a yard waste 95 or 65-gallon cart; a monthly rental fee would apply.

We accept bundles of brush or limbs, provided the bundles do not exceed a weight of 50lbs per bundle, are not more than four (4) feet long, are not  more than two (2) feet in diameter, do not contain limbs greater than three (3) inches in diameter and are tied with a proper yard waste sticker affixed.

Residents will have the option to mix yard waste and food scraps during yard waste season or year-round.  Please contact our office for more information.

Bulk Item Collection

Flood Brothers will collect one (1) bulk item per week under 50lbs on refuse collection day at no charge. .Items that weigh more than 50 lbs. will incur a $25 per item charge.  Items that are considered bulk items: mattresses, box springs, tables, chairs, chairs, and other discarded furniture. Four (4) rolls of carpet will equal one (1) bulk item,(no longer than 4 feet in length and 18 inches in diameter).

Flood Brothers.asks that residents disposing of items weighing over 50lbs to contact our office to arrange for a special pick-up.

Holidays

Holiday service changes are updated regularly on social media.  Residents are encouraged to follow Flood Brothers on Facebook, Instagram ad Twitter for holiday service updates.

Flood Brothers will not collect on the following holidays:

  • NEW YEAR’S DAY
  • MEMORIAL DAY
  • INDEPENDENCE DAY
  • LABOR DAY
  • THANKSGIVING DAY
  • CHRISTMAS DAY

Christmas Tree Collection

Holiday greenery must have all tinsel, ornaments, lights and nails removed before being placed out at the curb for pickup. Holiday greenery collection and pickup is free of charge and will take place the first 3 weeks of January for Kenilworth residents. .

White Good Item Collection

Flood Brothers will provide collection services for white good items (i.e.appliances) for a fee of $20.00 per item. Examples include refrigerators,dish washers, water heaters, washers,dryers, etc. Residents are asked to call our office 24 housr prior to collection to schedule white good pick up.

Household Hazardous Waste/Unacceptable Materials

Flood Bros. asks that resident s reach out to our office when a possible hazardous waste material may need to be disposed of (i.e. paint, pesticides, poison, cleaning solvents, oil, gasoline and other automotive fluids). We will work with the resident to find the best solution for disposal with the assistance of Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County Recycling programs.

E-Waste Collection

Residents have the option to contact our office for curbside collection of up to six (6) item s that fall under the acceptable E-Waste Program , in cluding one (1) television , pe r col lection for a fee of $30.00.  Flood Brothers will collect additional televisions for a charge of

$25.00 per television. Televisions that weigh over 50lbs will be charged $50.00 each.

For proper collection to occur, residents must call our office 24 hours prior to their collection day to schedule this special pick up.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency states electronic waste is now the fastest growing segment of our nation's waste stream. Electronic waste, from computers to TVs, contain toxic materials such as lead, chromium, cadmium, mercury, beryllium, nickel, zinc and other potentially harmful chemicals. The EPA warns when electronics that contain these materials are not recycled or are not disposed of properly, the hazardous chemicals can contaminate the ground water and present additional environmental concerns. Illinois State Law bans electronic waste in landfills. Under this state law, electronic waste cannot be collected with household refuse/waste.
