All solid waste materials must be placed at the curb for collection by 7:00 a.m. the day of your scheduled collection, but not before 6:00 p.m. the day before your pick-up. We cannot guarantee a specific time the driver will be at your home, please note the collection time may change from the current provider with Flood Brothers.
Trash/Refuse Subscription
Current subscribers will retain theexisting trash two-wheeled cart. Flood Brothers offers 95,65 and 35-gallon trash two-wheeled carts. Recycling two-wheeled cart will be retained from the current provider.
Additional trash is accepted in resident owned containers, not weighing more than 50 pounds per can or exceeding 33-gallons. Residents using the 65 and 35-gallon two-wheeled cart will be required to affix a pre-paid sticker to the additional trash. The 95-gallon trash subscribers will receive unlimited trash collection.
Extra trash/recycle two-wheeled carts may be rented for a monthly fee.
Trash/Refuse Sticker Program

Trash/Yard Waste Stickers are sold at: Ace Hardware - McHenry, Angelos, Meijer, Jewel, City Hall. Sold in sheets of 5.
Personal cans will be accepted. Please apply stickers to each bag and can. (33 gallon maximum), not weighing more than 50lbs.
Bulk Items
One bulk item per week, will be allowed for pick-up at no additional charge.
A bulk item is considered an item the resident would take with them if they moved out of the residence (i.e., couch, small tables, mattress, etc., weighing no more than 50 lbs. or more than 5 feet).
All bulk items must be at a weight that is manageable for one person to lift (not drag).
*Any bulk item weighing more than 50lbs will be charged a fee of $9.20 per item
Carpeting and Construction Waste
Carpeting: 4 rolls per week in lieu of bulk item. Must be rolled, taped, or tied and no more than 5 ft. long, 2 ft. in diameter and 50 lbs. in weight.
Construction and renovation waste: (i.e.: lumber, drywall, old cabinets, glass windows, glass doors etc.) are NOT considered bulk items, up to one (1) cubic yard of “Do It Yourself” debris will be collected each week.
Unacceptable Bulk Items
Items longer than five feet in length / Items weighing more than 50 pounds / Rocks, concrete and construction materials including roofing materials and lumber
Large appliances such as freezers, refrigerators, stoves, washing machines, dryers, etc. even if broken up, cut up, crushed or flattened / Any type of metal post, pipe, swing set, antenna, etc. / Electronic waste, or e-waste such as computer equipment, televisions, etc.
Recycling
Residents will be able to retain the existing two-wheeled recycling carts. Additional bins provided by the homeowner may be used for overflow.
Flood Brothers will allow recycling materials to be comingled (plastic, glass, metal, and paper products mixed together). There is no limit to the number of recycling bins or to the quantity of recyclables that a household may place at the curb for collection.
Residents have the right to set clearly marked bins for recycling collection and do not exceed 35-gallons or 50lbs. Flood Brothers Disposal Co. will collect from all the recycling bins that have been placed at the curb for collection.
Plastic bags are not acceptable in the recycling process.
Yard Waste Collection
Flood Brothers Disposal Co. will provide yard waste collection from April 1st and ending on December 15th on the same day as refuse and recycling collection each week. Flood Brothers will provide residential household yard waste on an unlimited basis. No Stickers Required.
All yard waste shall be placed in a waterproof plastic or metal container with a tight cover, or a biodegradable Kraft bag, of a size no larger than 35 gallons and not exceeding 50lbs. Residents will have the opportunity to rent for an additional monthly cost a 95-gallon cart from Flood Brothers.
We will accept and collect all bundles of brush or limbs, providing the bundles do not exceed a weight of fifty (50) pounds per bundle, are not more than five (5) feet long, are not more than two (2) feet in diameter, do not contain limbs greater than three (3) inches in diameter and are tied with proper twine or rope.
Curbside loose-leaf collection will be provided to all residential properties included in the Contract. Leaves will be picked up at least once per week on the same day as the resident’s normal garbage collection beginning the first full week of October through the first full week of December. Details will be provided to residents for proper placement each week.
We are now offering food scrap collection with yard waste. Residents can rent a cart from Flood Brothers and mix yard waste with food scraps on collection days during yard waste season.
