Welcome Lake in the Hills Residents!

Beginning July 1, 2017 Flood Brothers is proud to begin service to the residents of the Village of Lake in the Hills. Welcome to the family!

Some quick information about our services:

Single family and multi-family residents will be provided with unlimited trash collection, unlimited recycling collection, and unlimited landscape waste collection. Residents are allowed one bulk item pick up per week free of charge. Pickup days will remain the same as it is currently:

Effective July 1, residents will be given wheeled garbage carts for refuse and recycling free of charge. The regular size for refuse is a 95 gallon cart, and for recycling is a 65 gallon cart. If you’d like a change of cart size, please contact our office after July 1. Other sizes available are 65 or 35 gallon cart for refuse; and 95 or 35 gallon for recycling. The use of these covered wheeled carts is not required; each resident will have the choice to continue to use their own container of up to 35 gallons in size if they do not want the free contractor-provided wheeled carts. However, in an effort to prevent waste from blowing in the wind, the Village encourages residents to utilize the covered carts offered by Flood Brothers. Read more about what can be recycled.

Yard waste collection will be from April 1 through November 30 each year. Each container must be properly labeled with a yard waste decal. Decals are available free of charge at Lake in the Hills Village Hall or the Public Works Facility. Paper yard waste bags may be used without a decal. There is no limit on the number of residential yard waste containers or bags placed out for collection by a given household.

Flood Brothers offers year-round electronic waste recycling to residents free of charge. Approved electronics will be collected on the third week of every other month starting in August 2017. Please note the state of Illinois electronic waste landfill ban is a state law. Electronic waste cannot be collected with household refuse/waste. Read more about electronic recycling.

We will begin the transition during the last week of June by dropping off containers. If you have any questions about the transition, please call Dan Kaup, Lake in the Hills Deputy Public Works Director at 847-960-7500.
