Refuse must be properly containerized in bags or cans, not to exceed a 50-pound weight limit. There is NO CAN LIMIT as to the quantity of refuse you may place at the curb. Flood Brothers provides a 95-gallon toter for the use of refuse collection and a 65-gallon recycling toter. If you wish to rent additional toters, please contact our office at (630) 261-0578. Any Flood Brothers toter that is damaged will be replaced free of charge. Kindly contact the Flood Brothers office to replace a broken or worn toter.

As an optional, convenience-driven service to our customers, Flood Brothers offers backdoor service at an additional fee. We will collect refuse and recycling placed at a resident’s back door. Please contact Flood Brothers’ customer service department to enroll in backdoor service at (630) 261-0578. Handicapped heads of households can enroll in this service free of charge with properly completed forms.

Effective July 1, 2023 –

The Village of Pingree Grove residents will no longer be required to purchase yard waste and leaf stickers for collection. Residents will now receive unlimited yard waste collection.

Yard waste made up of grass clippings, bundled branches, brush and garden materials (such as plants, flowers, weeds, vines, bark pieces, pinecones, etc.)  should be placed in kraft bags or 32-gallon personal cans, weighing no more than 50 pounds. Residents may rent a 95-gallon yard waste toter for $5.00 per month.

Residents may rent a 95-gallon yard waste toter from April 1–November 30.

Branches need to be in bundles no longer than four feet and no larger than two feet in diameter. Each bundle must be affixed with one green yard waste sticker. Bushes cannot weigh more than 50 pounds and cannot be longer than four feet or wider than two feet in diameter. Bushes placed at the curb must have a yard waste sticker affixed to them.

Holiday greenery must have all tinsel, ornaments, lights and nails removed before being placed out at the curb for pickup. Holiday greenery collection and pickup is FREE OF CHARGE the first three weeks in January. Collection of holiday greenery after the third week of January will be billed as a bulk item pick up on your next invoice.

Bulk items are collected on your regularly scheduled collection day. There is a charge per bulk item; contact Flood Brothers at (630) 261-0578 for an estimate on your items. The following items are considered bulk items: mattresses, box springs, tables, chairs, bookcases and other furniture.

White good items are collected on your regularly scheduled collection day. There is a charge per white good item; contact Flood Brothers at (630) 261-0578 for an estimate on your items. The following items are considered white goods: refrigerators, stoves, washers, dishwashers, freezers, dryers, hot water tanks, air conditioners and furnaces.

To schedule a collection of a white good item, kindly contact our office at (630) 261-0578 during regular business hours. White good items must be placed at the curb by 6:00 a.m. the day of your regular pickup.

Up to seven containers will be picked up per collection FREE of charge. Additional containers will be charged a per cubic yard rate.

The following items are considered construction debris: drywall, rocks, carpet, doors, paneling, concrete, lumber, cabinets and fixtures. All items must be placed in bags, boxes and maximum 32-gallon containers and cannot exceed the 50-pound weight limit. Carpet rolls must be no longer than four feet in length and eighteen inches in diameter. Each roll is considered a container. For an estimate of a construction debris collection, please contact our customer service department at (630) 261-0578 during business hours. There is a two-yard minimum charge for collection service.

Items such as paint, household batteries, pesticides, poisons, cleaning solvents, tainted gasoline, used oil and other automotive products are considered to be hazardous waste and should not be included in your refuse toter for collection. A 65-gallon recycling toter will be provided to each residence at no charge. Additional recycling toters are available for a monthly fee, please contact our customer service department at (630) 261-0578 to rent additional toters. Recyclable materials are collected on your pickup day of service and must contain only acceptable recyclable items. Any recyclable toter that contains regular household waste will not be collected. Recyclable materials do not need to be separated. Please rinse all recyclable items to remove food residue prior to pickup.

If you are moving, please contact our customer service department to terminate service and remove any Flood Brothers equipment provided. They are available during office hours at at (630) 261-0578.

Flood Brothers Disposal & Recycling Company will bill for services three times per year: January, May and September. Each bill represents a four-month period. For example, your January statement will cover from January 1 through April 30. Payments are to be made within 20 days after receipt of the statement date. You may incur a finance charge if the payment is not received by the due date. Vacation Policy:

Residents are required to notify Flood Brothers prior to going on vacation. There is a 30 day minimum and no maximum (within one calendar year) in order to receive credit. Residents must supply a start and return date prior to their departure. Any balance must be paid in full before vacation status is applied. Credit will be applied upon return. No credit will be issued if Flood Bros Disposal is notified after the fact.
